Capture Manager
Timothy Stedman, Ph.D., Capture Manager at Shabas Solutions LLC, is a Life Scientist in Microbiology, Immunology and Infectious Disease with a focus on Business and Proposal Development, Program Management, scientific writing and support for public health initiatives. His primary interests are in supporting Health science initiatives including emerging diseases and preclinical development. He has authored or co-authored more than 30 research papers and served as Principal Investigator on multiple HHS grants and contracts.
Dr. Stedman provides Shabas collaborators with support in building research partnerships, health science opportunity identification, proposal development, and government and industry client stakeholder engagement. He continues to provide subject matter expertise and review for infectious disease countermeasure initiatives and helps pair other SMEs with appropriate client support projects.
Dr. Stedman previously served as the BEI Resources principal investigator for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) for more than 10 years while at ATCC, and PI for NIAID’s Malaria Research and Reference Reagent Resource (MR4) for six years prior. These contracts provided infectious disease and preclinical research tools and services for investigators worldwide. Dr. Stedman also supported CDC DSAT initiatives towards standardizing approaches for the inactivation of select agent pathogens, development, epitope mapping and sequencing of early pandemic monoclonal antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, and NIAID projects for antimicrobial screening of lead candidate compounds.
Dr. Stedman received his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University and served a post-doctoral fellowship and a research scientist position in Infectious Disease at Yale University School of Medicine.
